Yvon, from Trois Rivieres, Quebec, raced speedway from 1978 through to 1994. He returned to flat track racing, and on July 27, 1996, died in an accident on his home town half mile track, during a national event. His rear chain broke, sending him into the fence. He will be missed by all those that raced with him.
