One wild time I had with Dale was in his brown Maverick doing laps around the track after Speedway racing at Syracuse NY 1984 or 85, I think it was free beer night (bad idea). Dale was driving my stupid butt was sitting shotgun but my pit man was on top of the car hanging on then Dale tagged the wall the stands the golf cart the what ever was in his way then more laps on the track until he blew the right rear, and that's when he/we pit man on top went into turn 2 and that blown right rear dug into the dirt and up we went about 90% almost rolled pit man on top giggling like a lil girl. Dale lived at the track that next week fixing a few things (the promoter held him hostage in the mens bathroom). Good Times Good Times.

This is definitely sad news. Mike was always very personable and I enjoyed talking to him. He hadn't raced for a couple years, but it wasn't unusual for him to disappear for a couple years and then come back. Its sad to read that he won't be back on the track.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Ryan Evans

Pat and I knew Mike back in the late 60"s and 70's. He was a great kid who wanted to ride speedway. My brother was kind of like Mike's big brother and friend. He helped Mike get involved with riding and we both always encouraged him as he went along. You could always tell Mike was on the track with his riding style. He's already at the scratch main starting gate with quite a lot of other great guy's. He will be missed.
