Adrian Newman takes the Win!

A full sixteen rider program brings back the fierce competition that was missing in Florence last week. The speedway bike main ended up with Stuart Robson on the inside on the front row at the start line, with Adrian Newman in gate two, Gary Hesmer on the wall. Anthony Barlow had the inside position on the back row, with James Birkinshaw, and Robert Curry beside him. Lap two Robson knocked Adrian down, and the race was restarted with Robson moved back to the penalty line. The finish was Adrian (Australia), Curry (California), Barlow (England), Birkinshaw (England), Robson (England), Hesmer (Canada).

It was Robson's second time of rough riding, as he took out himself and Nick Fafard in heat 5, leaving Kim Gregory the only rider left on two wheels to take the win. Nick's bike was badly damaged, needing a replacement wheel and forks. I don't know how the referee awarded Robson third place for that!

The Quad Main Event had a five quad pileup in turn one, and was restarted. John Grant tangled up with another quad in this try, and was restarted. The third try worked, with a win by Louis Smith (Gulfport Mississippi), followed by Chuck Moores (Greenville TN), Mandy "Wild Child" Brodil (California), and a tangle across the finish line by Jeremy Whal (Saucier MS) and Michael Goodrich, that almost hit 'Crash' waving the checkered flag!

Heat points are awarded 1st=10, 2nd=5, 3rd = 3, 4th = 1 point
