Darren,
on what kind of bikes do 13-year-old riders compete?
Are they common 500 cc or something smaller?
Regards.
Andrea Geatti

Subject: Italian Championship R.2 - Lonigo 9.4.2000
Date: Mon, 10 Apr 2000 21:31:13 +0200

Lonigo 9th April 2000
Armando Castagna, back in top form, won convincingly the second round of the
Italian Championship at Lonigo on Sunday.
The Racers’ captain, dropped only one point to grass track specialist
Massimo Mora in his second outing during the preliminary heats and went on
to win the 5-man final ahead of Andrea Maida, Stefano Alfonso and Massimo
Mora. Fifth man in the big final was Alessandro Dalla Valle, winner of the
opening round of the championship at Terenzano one week earlier, but
excluded by referee Monica Toniolo after a solitary first bend fall.
Castagna, who drove back through the continent after collecting 15 points at
Arena Essex on Friday night, is now leading the overall standing by 3 and 4
points over Maida and Dalla Valle respectively and, with Alfonso and Mora in
close attendance, the championship looks wide open with still 6 rounds to be
held.
The crowed was over 1000, even under threatening weather and a record of 27
riders took part in the pre-meeting heats during the morning with the best
15 featuring the event in the afternoon.

Subject: IOW OFF
Date: Tue, 11 Apr 00 12:58:15 +0100

Received a phonecall from Dave Pavitt jusat after 12.30pm to say that
tonight's Premier Trophy match between the IOW and Newport is OFF.

Heavy rain has been falling all morning and is set to continue therefore,
alas, the decision was inevitable.

No restaging date agreed as yet.

Ah well....ANOTHER night in...that's two on the trot.....wish I'd gone to
Exeter last night now...second thoughts, looking at the score........!!!!!

Cheers
