thanks to Paul for a very tidy report indeed!

Err - yes they did Paulie poo. Well, Marc Norris dived in front of Steel
then Steel wobbled past him out of the second turn.
Admittedly that wa that and Steel was all over the place but Norris made no
impression. Norris seems to be having a nasty time with his bikes..

Martin Dixon almost clatters into Morris and falls whilst attempting - I
don't know what.
At least he's enthusiastic for an oldie.

His form is still really handicapping Reading.
We have a ten point rider scoring only one race win.
I'm sure it'll come but at the moment the Stallion's form is why sides are
enjoying Smallmead so far.
Can't fault him for effort though.

> Clews - Excellent effort again, filled in first time, unlucky not to pass
> Collins 2nd time, then 2 impressive victory.

Still troubled by his shoulder injury - at least one Racer is well up to
scratch.

> Morris - Bit sluggish from the gate. Got a rough first bend from Collins
in
> 3rd ride, decent win in 4th. Should have been used in Ht 15!

I konw you weren't the only one to say that Paul but its rubbish in my
opinion.
Morris won heat 12 well but only because Allen made a horrendous cock up on
bend 1 and almost let him through.
And you obviously didn't clock his time - 65.17. That was slow and we had
much better chances with Armando on a slow bike. Possibly he could have gone
in for Per - but how was anyone to know he'd be stone last twice?

> Marsh - Did all expected and more. Although should have made Fry work
> harder in Ht 14

Yes.
Fry just got past him so easilly - and from a fair way back.
The Swindon rider does look like he's got his set up bang on.

> Wester - First three riders were superb. Last two dreadful!

Can't understand him.

> Norris - Woeful!! Bike sounded like my flymo!
> Colvin - Obviously didn't fancy the wet conditions, 1 half decent start in
> Ht 8.

Both rubbish.
Reading can't carry two passengers - they will struggle to carry one.
I suspect changes will have to made here...

> Swindon

He does look good when he's like this..

> Dixon - Steady, though stupidly slid off in 2nd ride.
> Kristensen - Again steady, didn't need to be on top form!
> Fry - The match winner with 2 heat wins at the death! A great performance

All agreed.

> Collins - 100% as usual, without looking that quick.
Some of his first turns were uncompromising to say the least.

> Allen - Very very impressed with this lad, if only Racers had a boy like
> this at reserve.
I thought he'd score more to be honest. And whilst 9 can't be sniffed at -
his win in heat 9 over Marsh was verging on the embarassing for us. Marsh's
race win in heat 3 was 2.5 secs faster than Allen's - oooo how bad we were
last night.

> Steel - Super heat 2, definatley one for the future.
Looks like Marc did at the start of last year.
All agression and power.
If he stays on - he'll be very good.

> Racers need to sort out the bottom end of their team and fast, otherwise
> its going to be a long old season!

What about the top???
5 heat wins from heat leaders with our averages is plainly not good enough.

I agree the reserves need looking at but the priority is surely to win
flippin heats!

What a great night for Manchester all round :-)

This time last year, everyone said the defeat at Hull was deliberate - but
this year we know that the Aces are simply sh!te.

Perrin & Hall - you couldn't get a better double act. And they wonder why
the greyhounds are more popular at Quirky Lane.

Time to swap your blind faith for a step into the real world Mr Beckingham.

Dave
