South Australia's Rory Schlein has taken out the 2000 Australian U/16 Solo
Championship held in N.T on the 1st July. The South Australian was rock
solid as he went through undefeated in his five heats and then went onto to
win the Final in handsome style followed home in 2nd place by exciting young
NSW prospect Daine Stevens, son of Gosford rider Dave and brother of Jaye
and finishing third was Victorian Mark Jones.

You can forget Gosford, although the track is superb the facilities will
never be improved enough to cope with a huge crowd.  The new Sydney
Showground would be excellent only requiring alterations to fence and
track.  Yes, the FIM rep certainly was impressed.  To answer to other
posting regarding sponsorship of speedway/olympics, I don't think that
would have been an issue.  Two totally different types of sponsors.
