July 16, 2005 - Valparaiso Speedway

Valparaiso, IN USA - July 16, 2005

Well, the July 16th Speedway Race in Valpo was a nice night, even with the unwanted downpour 2 hours before Race time.

Once again we wheel packed the moisture in, and made the track rideable. The Kids Night program was evidently a good draw, because the Grandstands had three times as many people as before. After all the heats were over we had an intermission with 3 divisions of bicycle racing, and the crowd roared for each one, whether they were first or last. One boy went down in turn three, and hurt his knee. However, after being checked out and OK'd by the paramedics and his Dad, he got two free laps around the track on the back of Brad Amburgy's Speedway Bike. He was all smiles then, and waving to the crowd.

The flattrackers ran a 10 lap main, and the "A", "B", and "C" Speedway Mains were all close action from start to finish.

The only downfall to the night was when one unhappy rider accidentally and unfortunately got his words broadcast to the Grandstands. If anyone has a dispute, lets please save it for anywhere other than the start/finish line.

All in all it was a great night of Speedway and I've already received many calls and emails from people who said they will surely be back, and with more friends.

Hope to see you all on Saturday August 6th, for the INDIANA SPEEDWAY STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
