By: Ryan Evans

Charlie "The Edge" Venegas was perfect for the second week in a row en route to his third First Division Main Event victory at Industry Hills this season.

Venegas and "Gorgeous" Gary Hicks both entered the main undefeated. Hicks lined up on the pole, with Tommy Hedden in gate two, Venegas in gate three, and Buck Blair on the outside. Venegas exploded off the line when the tapes went up and held the lead down the back straight. Hicks tried desperately to save his unbeaten evening but couldn't gain ground on the leader. Venegas was hooked up on the inside line while Hicks went wide and drifted to the back of the field. Venegas breezed to the victory, Blair finished second, Hedden was third, and Hicks finished fourth.

Bryan Yarrow kicked off the heats with a win over Mark Dwyer. Shawn McConnell beat Northern California's Kenny Ingalls in the next heat. Blair beat Brad Sauer to get his first win. Hicks trapped from the outside for his first win. Venegas beat Hedden to end round one.

Yarrow made it two for two with a win to begin round two. Blair won his second straight race ahead of McConnell. Shaun Harmatiuk beat Hedden in race 21. Hicks made it two in a row by beating Doug Greyson who replaced his son Skyler on the program. Venegas won his second race while Dwyer used the outside to get second place.

Blair trapped from the outside and kept his perfect score to start the final round. Hedden won race 26 ahead of Dwyer who made another outside pass for second. Venegas remained perfect by defeating McConnell. Dale Facchini beat Michael Hernandez in the next race. Hicks remained won his third race and handed Yarrow his first defeat in the final heat. Facchini defeated Dwyer in a great runoff for the final semi slot.

Blair got the best gate in the first semi, but Hicks masterfully used the outside and blazed past the Colorado native for the lead at the end of lap one and pulled away for the win. Venegas gated quickly and cruised to the win in the second semi with Hedden following him to the main. McConnell battled Yarrow for three laps before pulling ahead to win the Consolation with Harmatiuk also getting by Yarrow for second.

Eloy Medellin trapped the field in the Second Division Main, but the red flag came out when Carl Gazafy went down in turn three and collected Rohn Zellner in the process. On the restart it was Tim Cochren who got the start before Zellner passed him in turn two. Medellin stalked Zellner before crossing under him as they approached the white flag. Medellin pulled away for the win, Zellner was second, Cochren finished third, and Gazafy was fourth.

Travis Henderson got the best start in the Third Division Main and pulled out to a comfortable lead. On the third lap, Allen Doss cut Henderson's advantage and made an inside move for the lead entering turn one on the final lap. The two combatants raced side-by-side down the back straight and set up a dramatic final corner. Henderson brushed the wall exiting turn four with while Doss nearly did the same. The two drag raced to the finish with Doss winning by inches but he carried too much speed and had to dismount his machine which ended up hitting the turn one wall. Doss was fine, but the front of the bike was destroyed. Henderson had to accept a narrow defeat for the second week in a row, Ron Mongenel finished third DeWayne Stark was fourth, Jesse Batista finished fifth, and Hugh Randolph was sixth.

Krystal Cramer passed Joey Holt on the third lap to win the Youth Main Event. Holt ended up second and Russell Green was third.

Emalee Pappalardo and Elijah Hicks engaged in a great battle with Pappalardo holding the lead for nearly two laps. Braydan Galvin made up his half-lap handicap and passed both riders simultaneously at the end of lap two and raced away with the win. Hicks finished second and Pappalardo was third.

Next Wednesday is Harley Night at Industry Hills. The evening will include people racing on street-legal Harleys.
