JT Mabry was able to break into the winners circle for the first time this season with a first place finish in the Division I handicap main event Friday night at Fast Fridays Motorcycle Speedway in Auburn. Mabry was able to hold off Billy Janniro who continued his winning streak in the Division I scratch program with a very convincing first place finish in the scratch main event. But in the handicap main event Mabry would not be denied riding a beautiful race to contain Janniro and hand him a second place finish in the handicap main event. Charlie Venegas finished third.

In the scratch program though it was strictly business for the current national champ, and Janniro was in perfect form. Janniro faced Venegas, Ryan Bast and Bobby Hedden. From the first turn Janniro claimed the lead and just strategically increased his lead over Venegas until he took the checkered flag. Venegas was second, Bast was third and Hedden was fourth. With the second round of the 2014 AMA US National Speedway Championship being staged Saturday in Southern California it will be interesting to see how the battle plays out between Janniro and Venegas. Currently after the first round Janniro is perfect with 21 points followed by Venegas with 15 points.

Retired veteran rider Bobby Hedden made a return to the dirt oval to ride in the special Fast Fridays vintage program. Hedden picked up the vintage main event win and showed he has lost nothing off his game on a speedway track. Riding 1970s era two-valve Jawa bikes the boys gave the Fast Friday's crowd a glimpse at past speedway racing machines. Also, twenty motorsport racing legends made the trip to Fast Fridays to be honored for their racing pasts before the nights racing began.

Kyle Marsalla, riding in both the division II and division I programs won the division II main event. Division III was won by Kurt Kornchuk, and Chase Guerrero was first in the Youth 250cc main event. Sterling Martin picked up the win in the Youth A 150cc main event and Cameron Krezman won the Youth B 150cc main event. For the fourth week in a row Jay Fodrini won the Run What U Brung main event.
