From: Jay "Do or Die" Gruetzmacher

Just got back from Possum Cove, WHAT A WILD WEEKEND!!!!!WHAT A CROWD!!!! 3 days of racing, partying, lots of crashing and eating the best gumbo in the world. See the race photos.

1st night of racing was more of a demonstration for the crowd that came to see the demolition derby, one of the best I have seen, run in there own area, on wet grass.

2nd night was a championship program with the top 4 going to a main event. I am afraid I am not prepared with the points but the order of finish was:

#1 Scott Orminston, Colorado
#2 Kenny Pieper, Colorado
#3 Rome Comoeaux, Louisiana
#4 Tom Kern, Colorado

Consolation
#1 Don Foster, Colorado
#2 Karl Gott, Louisiana
#3 Allen Willaims, Colorado
out due to crash Jay Gruetzmacher, Colorado

The 3rd day was the most exciting. Everyone was running fast on that kick ass, cushy track. It was real hard to keep the front wheel down. Well in the 3rd heat Tom Kern hit Scott and Tom went down right in front of Kenny, it twisted Toms head around and hurt Tom's neck. Tom Got up, went to the pits and sat down. About 5 minutes later he was unable to feel any part of his body, could not breath, and was in shock. Tom did not want to be checked out after the crash, but with one yell from Don Foster, the EMT's were on him like bee's on honey, and Flight for life was there in what seemed like seconds. They landed on the half mile, loaded Tom up and they were gone.
Tom was back at the track late that night, he did not break his neck. I am not a medical pro but from I got he took some form of shock to the spinal cord. He is one lucky and hurting puppy, but all is well.

Results from Sunday

#6 Karl Gott, Louisiana
#7 Allen Williams, Colorado
Went flying - Tom Kern, Colorado

The people of Louisiana are the best we have ever raced for, and they would love to see more riders, like maybe form Canada? Everything was very well setup. Mini's and Speedway ran on one track, flattrack on the half mile "they were very fast", dirt drag racing, and demo derby, live band, and best of all was the outside shower stalls with frogs and lizards. There are motels very close for the sissy's. Most stay at the track and share some of the best cooking in the world!!!!!! All the Colorado riders would like to say a special thanks to:
The People of Louisiana
Rat Pack racing team
The EMT's
Flight for Life
Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs dept.
Memorial hospital, Lake Charles LA. for Tom and Don (Don wasn't there 10min, warmed up with a couple of starts and flipped over, missing Friday's race)
and Lori Comoeaux for Boureau and Thibedeaux

I do have pic's and will send this week.
