PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITY AT INDUSTRY SPEEDWAY
January 16, 2008
First, let me thank ALL those who have been a part of the last 2 years of racing at Industry Speedway. It could not have been done without everyone we were fortunate to have helping us. Our sponsors have been fantastic. The fans have been fantastic. The Grand's staff has been fantastic. Dad has had more fun these last 2 years than ever where Speedway is concerned. And, he's not done riding yet! Kelly Inman really is Superman in disguise!
Second, USA Speedway and Industry Hills Expo Center did a great job putting together a great show for all the families and friends of speedway in attendance Sunday. Congratulations again. Brad Oxley and International Speedway stepped up and recognized A LOT of people who have been instrumental in speedway for MANY years. (Us included, although we only have 2 years under our belts). Speedway passion was in the air.
Now, let me clarify what was said and not completely understood on Sunday. The Industry Hills Expo Center has allowed us to announce the opening date for speedway at The Grand for 2008. May 21st. We/They are excited about the fifth season and look forward to opening night!
Unfortunately for us, we will not be returning as the promoters.
Specialized Coatings is where we earn our living and it did not meet it's expectations these last 2 years. I cannot blame it all on speedway, but we cannot divide our time and efforts and expect both to thrive as they should. We love speedway and we are trying to do the best we can for the sport, the Grand and the fans. But Specialized Coatings needs our attention. We are selling our equipment and track materials. I would be glad to speak with any seriously interested parties about what it takes to promote this sport, and the purchase of the items we have. The Grand has stated they will not run speedway without the crashwall system Kelly designed and built specifically for The Grand. This is without a doubt the best turnkey opportunity anyone would ever have if they are seriously interested in promoting speedway.
If you, or someone you feel might be the right person, are interested in discussing this great opportunity, please have them call Lee Crecelius at 714-901-2655. Please do not call the Industry Hills Expo Center, they will only refer you to me. My email at Specialized is Lee@SpecializedCoating.com. They want our choice to be the right choice for Speedway and the Grand.
Again, thank you all for the support, recognition and for being a part of the success of Industry Speedway.
INDUSTRY PRACTICE ON APRIL 30 CANCELLED
From Jeffrey Immediato via the internet:
INDUSTRY PRACTICE ON APRIL 30
The practice slated for the Grand Arena at the Industry Hills Expo Center for Wednesday April 30th had to be cancelled. At the time of the cancellation, there were less than 15 people signed up. We tried to telephone, email and POST messages but we did not and still do not have everyone's names or phone numbers yet, so please call any of your friends or associates that may not be getting this message about the cancellation. We really need your help on this one; we do not wish anyone to waste money on expenses to go to a practice that is not going to be. Practice is cancelled.
Now, let's go on to Opening Night. We only have two more days until the event program goes to the printer. As of this post, we only have heard from less than a dozen riders who have even called the hotline to sign up (949) 640-0455 or e-mailed me Jeff@industryspeedway.com to be on the program for Opening Night May 7th.
The following will be needed:
1.) Your name the way you want it printed in the program
2.) Your riding number
3.) The Division you wish to ride
4.) Your current AMA number and your USA Speedway number
5.) Your contact numbers. especially cell and email REAL IMPORTANT
Our hotline number is (949)640-0455 Website: http://www.IndustrySpeedway.com
April 9, 2008
I will try again to hold a practice for the riders on April 30th. However, I'll need 31 riders to show up to come close to breaking even on holding a safe and race ready track prepared practice. You can call the hotline at 949 640-0455 or email me at Jeff@industryspeedway.com if you want to sign up.
Razamataz: Industry Speedway Announces New Owners
Well it's official. Today Friday February 22, 2008 the American Speedway Coalition sold it's Wednesday Speedway racing operation to the Dome Development Group.
The face of this new management is none other than Jeff Immediato and Two Time World Individual Speedway Champion, Bruce Penhall. Penhall and Immediato have teamed up before as athlete and personal manager in the 80's for his record breaking back-to-back World Speedway Championships in 1981 and 1982. It was also Immediato who is responsible for guiding the acting career of Penhall to network television as a series regular on the hit NBC show "CHiP's" starring Erik Estrada. Penhall and Immediato got together once again in the 90's when Bruce and his life long friend Dennis Sigalos who is also a former Speedway Motorcycle star in Europe and America stormed the National Offshore Racing scene by dominating the oceans and their competitors with a 27' Scarab cigarette racing boat sponsored by Ocean Spray called "Crave the Wave". In all, Bruce Penhall has 9 World Championship titles to his resume.
"We are extremely confident that our group can make Speedway Motorcycle Racing once again the "Only Reason for Wednesday Nights said Dome Development Group Project Director Jeffrey Immediato…" The Industry Hills Expo Center is a hidden gem of Southern California sports and events facilities. The Grand Arena, where the Wednesday Night Speedway events are held is a 10 million dollar all-weather facility with grandstands that seat over 5,000 spectators in a racing event configuration. It boasts a 45,000 sq. ft. floor which adds another 4,000 seats in concert or boxing configurations. With it's breathtaking views of the skyline of downtown LA and the spectacular San Gabriel Valley Mountains from every seat the main arena at the Industry Hills Expo Center also boasts a broadcast capable audio visual production suite and editing tower and a programmable scoreboard with four 70" projector screens and a 10,000 watt fully equipped JBL/QSC sound system for race fans and our spectators. We Absolutely Love This Place!" exclaimed Immediato. Jeff is a local from the San Gabriel Valley. He graduated from Covina High before attending NYU and Redlands. His management include the Wheelie King Doug Domokos, Stuntman Jeff Winkie and others.
In addition to the last year of the American Speedway Coalition lease with Industry Hills Expo Center, the Dome Development Group extended its lease options to the year 2014. We're very excited about our new tenants the Dome Development Group explained Operations Manager Carol Perez, "Jeff has brought a lot of new ideas to the table and we strongly believe he will bring a whole new level of promotion to our facility".
The new management also purchased all assets related to operations and marketing of the AMA/USA Speedway Sanctioned Wednesday Night Motorcycle events from the American Speedway Coalition including their state of the art "special safety" crash wall and custom made rock concert style starting gate.
Immediato's been around forever and knows the sport as well as anyone on the planet and of course BP is a personal friend stated Chairman of the Board for USA Speedway Harald Zechner. I worked with Jeff at Ascot, Costa Mesa Speedway, Ventura Raceway and more other venues than I can count. The half time shows he brought to Speedway in the 70s and 80s were classic. I'm sure he will bring that level of promotion to this venue and that his and Bruce's knowledge of television production will also play a huge roll in bringing Speedway to the masses. I am proud to welcome Jeff, Bruce and the other yet unnamed Dome Development Group members to be a part of USA Speedway family and I look forward to working with them.
The Dome Development Group is still putting it's final touches on the 2008 season so a complete schedule is still a couple of weeks from being finalized. We do know their season opener will be on Wednesday night May 7th to coincide with the 40th Anniversary celebration of Speedway Motorcycle racing in Southern California. They also hope to be able to do several practice meetings and Speedway schools prior to their opening but until negotiating for insurance coverage is finalized no further details are available at this time. Bruce Flanders "The Voice of Speedway" will continue to be the announcer. Discussions are also in the works to bring Super Moto and Arena X to the facility.
The new promotion that will officially be called Industry Speedway and will have offices at the Industry Hills Expo Center 16200 Temple Avenue City of Industry, CA 91744, 626.330.0324. Details will soon be available at www.IndustrySpeedway.com
