Again the weather was kinder to us, a pleasant 80 +
degrees which made for comfortable viewing and easier track preparation.
Although a little heavy to start with, the track soon enabled some great
racing, viewed by a good sized crowd.
It was not a good night for a number of riders. There were a lot of crashes
and some injuries.

Scratch Main
1. Bobby Hedden
2. Mike Faria
3. Charlie Venegas
4. Bart Bast
Bart was injured, unable to take part. Bobby Hedden got a great gate,
Charlie fell in the first corner and Mike fell in turn three. An unhappy
Bobby Hedden had to do it all again. This time Charlie made it easier by
touching the tapes and reduced the field to two. Bobby got the gate, and
that was the main event.

I did not get the results for the other 3 places. Bart Bast (50), Matt
Browne and Greg Hooten were the other competitors. After the finish of the
race Billy Hiles fell in turn one. Bobby Hedden laid it down, but Bart Bast
had nowhere to go and ended up in the wall. He left the track vertically,
but with a suspected broken leg. This will end Bart’s season. This must be
the most pointless injury ever collected, after the race was over.
