More great racing from Auburn as they return to their normal format,
following their successful win at the Civil War meeting last weekend. RC
Jones commented that the second win by the North "suggested" that last
year's win was not a fluke. I would have used the word "confirmed".
The rider who has impressed me lately is Wade Boyd. He showed up about a month ago, to contest his first speedway race at the age of 41. I noticed in his riders test that his speed going into the turns was not consistent with a normal third division rider. The following week he won the third division main, and again the week after. This week he was riding second division and he won that too. His style looks somewhat different, an indication of some twenty years competing American Flat Track, but he is now going into the turns at first division speeds. Next week he is contesting a road race in France. Quite an all-rounder.
