Welcome back Pat the Rat!! It was great to see you out here on the
track again. Pat has been a wonderful supporter of speedway all year
from the sidelines as he was recovering from knee surgery. But it
didn't look like he had missed a race all season.
There was a great battle between Ormiston and Pieper in a qualifier. The passed each other the entire race and neither gave up until they crossed the finish line a half a wheel apart.
Litt got the gate from pole and Pieper forgot to turn on his fuel. While he sat at the start, Ball passed Ormiston on the straight between turns two and three but couldn't catch up to Litt.
1st 28 Pat "The Rat" Litt 2nd 17 Rob "The Rocket" Ball 3rd 9 Scott "Scotty O" Ormiston (WL) 4th 3 David "Colorado Cowboy" Pieper (WL)
Petz missed the main by one point, but blew away any competition in the consy. He got the gate and never looked back. Harris, coming off the pole, took second, with Harrington and Williams following in third and fourth.
1st 57 Gene "The Dancing Machine" Petz (JAWA) 2nd 21 Conn "The Con Man" Harris (WL) 3rd 4 Calvin "The Calvinator" Harrington 4th X Allen "The X-Man" Williams (GM)
Mann took the lead coming out of turn one and held it until turn three of the last lap, when Grace passed inside for the win.
1st 67 Ron Grace 2nd 39 Chad Mann (WL)
Litt, Pieper and Ball all started from the 60 and Ball shot off like a rocket (hence his nickname...). Mann had the lead from the 0 going into turn one, followed closely by Pieper, Ball and Litt. But Pieper went high in turn three and lost his position. Ball quickly took over first and continually increased his lead until the last stretch when he threw a chain. It was a disappointing loss for the fans.
