Pirate Speedway - San Bernardino, CA, USA - September 6
Aaron Fox stepped forward to deny "Fast" Eddie Castro of third consecutive main event victory on a great night of racing at Pirate Speedway.
Fox started from gate one and led the field through the first corner. Gino Manzares emerged as Fox's biggest threat as they raced down the back straight. Manzares was determined to catch the leader but Fox steadily put distance between he and his closest challenger. Manzares slowed dramatically and pulled off the track with an engine failure. "Battling" Buck Blair took over second but the lead was too big to overcome. Fox was first to the checkered flag, Blair finished second, Castro was third, Tyson Talkington finished fourth, and Manzares was credited with fifth.
Manzares began the evening with a win over Talkington. Russell Green defeated Castro in the second heat. Fox beat Troy McConnell in event three. Steve Russell held off Blair to end round one with a win.
Russell started round two with a win ahead of Bobby "Boogaloo" Schwartz. Brad Sauer held off every challenge Castro could muster and scored an impressive victory. Manzares beat Green for his second consecutive win. Fox beat Blair to finish the second round with his second straight win.
Talkington opened the final round of heats with a win over Kayle LeoGrande. Schwartz held off Neil Facchini for the win in event 23. Manzares beat Sauer in the next race while Fox suffered a mechanical failure when running in second. Castro completed the heats by beating Blair.
Fox and Talkington finished one-two in the first semi and both transferred to the main. Manzares won the second semi with Blair following him into the main event. Castro won the Last Chance to fill the final spot in the main-event field.
Dave Troutt led the six-rider Support Main Event through the first lap but found himself under pressure from Davey Shaw. Troutt held on to the lead through lap two but fell the third time through turn two and handed the lead to Shaw. Once he was in the lead Shaw staked himself to a comfortable advantage and cruise the rest of the way for the victory. Ben Stevens finished second, Steve "Beach Ball" Brown was third, Tim McGrath finished fourth, Pam "Pinky" Bennett was fifth, and Troutt was credited with sixth.
Michael Wells defeated Dryden Gayle to win the 250 Junior Main Event.
Jake Isaac led from start to finish and claimed the victory in the Mini 150 Main Event. Sara Cords finished second, Luke Whitcomb was third, and Dakota Shockley finished fourth.
Tanner Richey passed Jake Troutt at the end of the second lap and raced away with the victory in the Pee Wee Main Event. Jake Troutt held on to second and Nick Dunn finished third.
Chris Jones stepped in for his brother and teamed up with Johnny Glover to win the Sidecar Main Event. Bryan Motis and Josh Bennett finished second, Jeff Row and John Bach were third, and Dual Anderson and Ethan Smith were credited with fourth.
