Industry Hills Speedway Scratch Main Event at the tapes (inside - outside):
Gino Manzares, Max Ruml, Shawn McConnell, Slater Lightcap.
The finish was Ruml, McConnell, Manzares, Lightcap.

“Mad” Max Ruml rolled to his third consecutive Scratch Main Event with an undefeated evening at Industry Hills Speedway.

Ruml’s perfect evening afforded him the first choice of starting position in the main event and he chose gate one. Former Under 21 National Champion Gino Manzares picked gate two and 16 year old Slater Lightcap selected gate four. Shawn “Mad Dog” McConnell, who at 63 years old is nearly four times as old as Lightcap, was left with gate three and was the sentimental favorite based on the crowd response during the pre-race introductions.

Ruml led from the start and quickly established a comfortable lead. Shawn McConnell was the story of this race, though. The sexagenarian found himself in last as the field exited turn two but he quickly went on the attack. He went to the inside in turns three and four and was side-by-side with Lightcap through lap one before securing third on the back straight. Manzares drifted slightly off the precious inside line in turn four and the savvy veteran hugged the pole and pounced on the opportunity. Shawn McConnell stormed under Manzares at the end of lap two and had a firm grasp on second coming out of the second bend. Ruml cruised to the victory but the crowd probably showed more gratitude toward Shawn McConnell for his second place. Manzares finished third and Lightcap was fourth.

Tim Gomez opened the evening with a victory over Shawn McConnell. Ruml defeated Manzares in the second heat. Austin “All Throttle” Novratil beat Lightcap to end round one.

Ruml beat “Fast” Eddie Castro for his second straight win to start round two. Novratil was leading the next heat but his bike slowed because his fuel was off and this created a brief battle between Shawn McConnell and Alex Martin for the lead. Shawn McConnell took the lead on lap two and led the rest of the way. Manzares ended the second round with a victory ahead of Lightcap.

Manzares began the final round of heats by defeating Shawn McConnell. Ruml roared to his third straight victory by beating Lightcap. Novratil beat Gomez to end the heats with his second victory.

Ruml made it four victories on the trot in the first semi with Lightcap finishing second to join him in the main. Manzares and Shawn McConnell finished one-two in the second semi and both transferred to the main.

Gomez kept Castro and Martin at bay and won the Scratch Consolation for the second straight week.

Mark Fillebrown led all four laps en route to his second consecutive victory in the Second Division Main Event and a probable opportunity in First Division. Rudy Laurer was second, Andrew Russell finished third, and Kevin Fiore was credited with fourth.

Jordan Vanderham, whose father, Rick raced in the 1980s, made an auspicious speedway debut by winning both of his heats and completed his perfect night by winning the Third Division Main Event. Jake Myers finished second, Tony Rutledge was third, and Jim Sanders finished fourth.

Levi Leutz defeated Nick Dunn to collect his first Junior 250 Main Event at Industry this season.

Brandon Soto led from start to finish and was victorious in the Mini 150 Main Event. Maddux Myers was second, Kayd Fiore finished third, and Morgan Myers came home fourth.

Roxen McConnell led the Pee Wee Main through lap one. Hudson Jones, who started far behind his competitors, was closing fast. Jones assumed the lead as they entered turn three. The son of National Sidecar Champion Joe Jones never looked back from there and took the victory. Roxen McConnell was second and Jenson Horn finished third.
