Costa Mesa 2022

There is no Rain Date available, so Costa Mesa 2022 Season is done. International Speedway has officially announced there will not be any more Speedway racing at Costa Mesa this year. The promotion had hoped the Fair Board would approve running one more event to make up for the October 15, Fall Classic that was rained out.

We tried hard but the Fairgrounds stays petty busy so our request was turned down. Seems the only positive is that we were able to start a serious conversation about the 2023 season Brad Oxley relayed. Hopefully we will have better luck agreeing on race dates then we did last year.

Well happy off season Oxley clan. We look forward to seeing you for the 54th season of Speedway at Costa Mesa Fairgrounds.

AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Class of 2022 Announced

The votes have been tallied, and the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame is proud to announce the six inductees to be honored during the 2022 AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Oct. 28 in Pickerington, Ohio.

The AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Class of 2022 is Kenny Coolbeth, Greg Hancock, Effie Hotchkiss, Sandy Kosman, Ben Spies and James Stewart.

“The Class of 2022 includes men and women who have excelled in competition, engineering, design, motorcycle adventure and more,” said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. “Some are champions in many of our premier racing disciplines — motocross, road racing, dirt track and speedway — while others excelled in limit-expanding adventures, or helping riders and teams reach their on-track potential. We are honored to recognize these motorcycling greats this Oct. 28 at the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.”

GREG HANCOCK
Racer Greg Hancock has earned four Speedway World championships and eight AMA U.S. National Speedway championships in a career spanning four decades, with 2019 marking his 27th and last season competing in the Speedway World Championship series. While logging a record 218 Speedway Grand Prix appearances, he has finished in the top five in World Speedway competition 17 times, and finished in the top three eight times.

PGE Ekstraliga

Vladimir Kruk

Great casting at PGE Ekstraliga. Something like this has never happened before!

Speedway. The best speedway league in the world - PGE Ekstraliga follows the best leagues from overseas. Following the example of basketball, the NBA will conduct a camp next week for young players that the speedway world has not seen before. Over 70 boys and girls from 18 countries around the globe will come to Toruń!

All of them will try to present their skills to the representatives of individual speedway clubs. The best can count on contracts. In addition to the most numerous young Poles, the camp will host players from: Slovenia, Hungary, France, USA, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Estonia, Argentina, Denmark, Czech Republic, Australia, Finland, Great Britain, Latvia, the Netherlands and Ukraine. Everything will start on July 18 in Toruń.

- The first two days of Speedway Ekstraliga Camp are mainly training and additional classes, qualifications and finals begin on Wednesday. Everything under the supervision of coaches Jacek Woźniak in the 125 cc class on the miniature, Robert Kościecha responsible for the 250 cc class and Rafał Dobrucki - the coach of the Polish national team - says Przemysław Szymkowiak, PR manager of PGE Ekstraliga.

Among the young speedway riders presenting their abilities in the senior class, 500 cc, there will be, among others, the son of the four-time individual world champion, Greg Hancock, Wilbur.
- It is great that PZM and Ekstraliga Speedway are planning to organize such events. This is crucial for the future of the world's slag. The FIM has organized similar events in the past, which were very popular, so I think the Speedway Ekstraliga Camp will also bring the expected results. I believe that this will give future speedway stars the opportunity to develop, get help, support and improve their skills to make their dreams come true - said 52-year-old Greg Hancock, who together with his son will bring another talented American, Alex Martin, to Toruń.

All camp participants should appear in the Copernicus Town on July 17. They received invitations to the PGE Ekstraliga match between For Nature Solutions Apator Toruń and Moje Bermudy Stali Gorzów, to be able to see the match of the best speedway league in the world live.

During the camp, they will also have the opportunity to meet the stars. The following are to appear in Toruń: Bartosz Zmarzlik, Leon Madsen, Martin Vaculik and Janusz Kołodziej, as well as the individual world champion from 2010, Tomasz Gollob and former national team coach, Marek Cieślak.

- Speedway Ekstraliga Camp is our idea for an impulse for foreign federations and help in the development of young slag adepts. We are all responsible for the fate of this sport in the world - said Michał Sikora, President of the Polish Motor Association.

Reports on the qualifications and the final competition in 250 and 500 cc classes (20 and 21 July) will be available to the fans on the Internet. PGE Ekstraliga announced direct coverage on its YouTube channel.

In addition to training and tournaments, young speedway adepts will also have classes with a sports psychologist and physical development trainer. One of the world's leading speedway tuners, Ashley Holloway, will tell them about the secrets of speedway equipment.

- From next Friday to Sunday we will publish the lists of participants in the competition in classes 125, 250 and 500 cc. Speedway Ekstraliga Camp is entering its final stage of preparation. We are very pleased with the interest among the federations. There are really interesting young speedway riders on the list of participants, there will be girls and players whose fathers we all remember from the speedway tracks - said Przemysław Szymkowiak, PR manager of PGE Ekstraliga.

Speedway at Perris Update

Our tentative Perris date for 18 June unfortunately will not be going ahead. Rising costs for our landlord have in turn meant a change in track rental prices that go outside of currently being viable to us without a major increase in sponsorship revenues. We understand our landlords position and have no upset with them. Racing is a passion for us both but neither of us can run and risk a major loss.

This does not mean speedway at Perris is done but it does mean that our immediate strategy is to run only special and big events. To that end, we are planning to return November 19th with the Allen Fife Salute to America race and then the AMA FIM North America Final on December 10th.

From those foundations we will hopefully grow back to a more regular schedule but it would really depend upon a sponsorship reserve cushion to keep everything stable. If anyone is interested in sponsoring events or helping us procure sponsors, please get in touch.

Costa Mesa Season Opener May 21, 2022

After a two year hiatus excitement and momentum is at a fever pitch as hardcore and casual fans await the return of Saturday night Speedway racing at the Costa Mesa Fairgrounds. Riders are equally excited as competing in the “Bullring” means close racing on a well prepared race surface, against Americas best sideways warriors along with scads of cheering fans edging them on.

Getting here has not been easy as vigorous, unreasonable government interference and regulations, and an outright ban on public gathering shut Speedway down. Then once the powers that be gave their blessing promoter Brad Oxley had to put it all back together. From grandstands that had been removed to building a crash wall and painting it along with the ticket and souvenir booth it was a time consuming effort that took countless man-hours for Brad, his staff, and handful of dedicated volunteers to complete. The bad; it was hard, stressful and expensive. The good; its done baby, lets rock and roll.

A race program has not yet been finalized as rider license and paperwork is still being received but sources tell me that D1 racers Billy Janniro, Max Ruml, Gino Manzares, Austin Novratil, Aaron Fox, Shawn McConnell, Bobby Schwartz, Eddie Castro, Dukie Ermolenko, Randy DiFrancesco, Blake Borello. Slater Lightcap will be on the program. This is only a partial list as other names were mentioned but no not yet confirmed. Regardless Brad Oxley like his counterpart Kelly Inman have vowed that they will run a true first division show.

More? Well how about a vintage Speedway motorcycle exhibition that will include both Cody and Jack Milne’s championship winning machines. Of course the Rock & Roll band Dirty Water with their ace drummer Mike Raines. Yes, the night will be a party interrupted by a race every few minutes.

So join your friends or come and make new ones when Speedway Motorcycle racing kicks off its 2022 season at the Costa Mesa Fairgrounds on Saturday night May 21.

Digger Helm / AMA Speedway National comes to Kern County Raceway

Bakersfield, CA -- Kern County Raceway in Bakersfield is delighted to announce its biggest ever Speedway Motorcycle event on June 25th as the track will stage Round 1 of the 2022 AMA Speedway Championship for the Digger Helm Trophy.

Track General Manager Larry Collins and Speedway Race Director Steve Evans are teaming up with Michael Helm, Digger Helm’s son, to showcase the best the US has to offer in Speedway Motorcycle racing.

The venue, known for its Stock Car and Sprint car races on modern paved and dirt facilities added Speedway and Flat Track to its events early in 2021. The 1/8 banked speedway oval has been producing rave reviews from riders and fans in its short 15-months.

Digger Helm is a motorcycling icon from Bakersfield, a flat track racer and the original speedway motorcycle promoter in the city back in the late 1960s and the 70s. He will be honored as KCRP picks up his legacy with a massive event.

“Hosting an AMA National for Speedway that is associated with the legacy of Digger Helm is outstanding,” stated Larry Collins, GM at Kern County Raceway. “Digger had done so much for all forms of motorsports, but his heart was always in flat track and speedway motorcycles, we can’t wait to host the Digger Helm / AMA Speedway National,” Collins added.

Michael Helm added, “Wow what an amazing way to honor Dad with an AMA National Speedway race. Dad was a member of the AMA from 1957 until his passing, he was a lifetime AMA member. Flat Track was his first love on two wheels, but in 1969, his friends were all talking about this Speedway stuff, and he had to get into it. From 1969 to the end of 1976 Dad promoted Speedway at the Kern County fairgrounds. As a kid growing up in and around Speedway you can only imagine the great times we all had. To bring Speedway back to KCRP with the name Digger Helm tied to it is an honor for our family. We are ecstatic to partner with Larry Collins and bring the awesome sport of Speedway to such a fantastic venue. Digger has had a great relationship with the Collins family from 1977 to his passing in 2018. When Dad walked away from Speedway, he bought an Open Comp Camaro and started racing at the famous Mesa Marin Raceway owned by Larry's uncle Frank and dad, Marion Collins and they had wonderful friendships. The Helm family is very honored.”

The event will feature 16 riders and runs over 23 races, using the same format used in the Speedway Grand Prix World Championship. 2021 saw rising star Max Ruml take his first AMA National title. Record setting Billy Janniro, who has ten titles to his name, will be keen to regain the #1 from his young rival, but there are many superstars such as Team USA’s Gino Manzares, Austin Novratil, 2 x National Champ Aaron Fox and young superstar Alex Martin who will be keen to beat both.

The event will have a 7:30 start and will kick off what is expected to be a three-round championship with events also expected at City of Industry and Fast Fridays in Auburn, CA.

More information will be posted on the event to honor the great Digger Helm in due course.

2022 Industry Racing

Thunderdome Season Opener moved to June 15, 2022

First off, let me reassure everyone that Industry will run a full schedule with a minimum of 12 race dates in the Grand Arena this year.

Why the change, well unless you’ve been living under a rock you know It’s a strange and new world that makes promotion incredibly expensive and challenging. This is especially true at Industry Racing as a host of changes are requiring more time and energy to resolve.

So what’s the issue you ask. Well it’s a fair question so I’ll share the short version of what’s happening.

For starters Kelly Inman is now the new promoter rather than race manager. No need to share all the details here but those who assumed he always was are mistaken.

What that means is Kelly is now responsible for ALL expenses occurred. Security, insurance, ambulance, workers, rental, licenses, rider purses is just a small portion of fees and costs that seem to go on forever. Let’s face the facts, not even the dirt is cheap.

Then there’s the Wednesday night issue. While no one can argue that the Grand Arena is an outstanding location the rub is that Speedway can only be raced there on Wednesdays. It’s not that the Industry Hills Expo Center doesn’t like Speedway cause in truth they love it. Problem is the arena is booked literally every weekend with events that have much deeper pockets then we do so dates are hard to get and expensive when one becomes available.

Another big challenge is riders. Those from Northern Cal, and even locals must dedicate time and money to be there. Many work during the week and gasoline costs are outrages. All the racers love Kelly Inman and desperately want to be there but love don’t pay the bills.

So what can you do? Commit to ride, commit to attend, commit to sponsor. It takes a village and that’s us. Let’s make this Industry Racing's best. Together we can overcome any challenge.

Here is the updated schedule of planned events in The Grand Arena.
June 15, 22, 29 -- July 6, 13, 20, 27 -- August 3, 13, 17, 24, 31

Will we look for more race dates, you betcha.
See you where the wheels go round.

Howie Zechner, Press Officer, howie@razvideo.com (April 26, 2022)

Industry Racing 2022 Speedway season coming quick!

Just a quick update for all that have been patiently waiting for some news. I am working hard to make everything happen for the tentative opening night date of June 1st. Things have been difficult to say the least, to secure everything needed to run proper and safe events. Finding a security company that could contract for the year has been most difficult, as many went out of business or just don't have the manpower since covid restrictions stopped them from any work for so long. Ambulance services have been a complete challenge also.

All is coming together and we are tackling everything best we can. Schedule and any updates will be posted on the website and social media as soon as possible. Website has been down, but will be back up soon. Wednesday night / spectator based events face plenty more challenges than a weekend event getting spectators after work, traffic, riders that work or have to drive far, etc. Early June is always tough as its graduations, etc.

Top Division 1 rider availability on a Wednesday night is and always has been a challenge, but we will charge ahead and put on great shows! After some discussion with Bruce Penhall, we have decided that it would be best for the event to delay the Connor Penhall Memorial Cup until probably July sometime. This is the most important and meaningful race I do, and I want to make sure we have a SOLID Division 1 show. This has been our Grand season opener for years, and with some riders not avail at the time this is the smartest decision.

Industry Hills Expo Center and Industry Racing staff are chomping at the bit to have all the great racers and amazing fans back on property. We have brought in, and still bringing in more new dirt / clay, crashwall has been repainted, and I am chasing sponsors to be able to make it all happen.

We have the best team at Industry, and I'm always looking for extra hands to work infield, or at least be available as back up as needed, you can reach out to me here on direct message, or email speedwaykelly@yahoo.com

Tentative:
June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
July 6, 13, 20, 27
August 3, 13-14, 17, 24, 31

Howie will also have a full press release as I know more. Still a lot more work to do to be able to make it happen. I can't thank the entire, and best team enough for what they do, allowing me to do what I love. Without them, I wouldn't / couldn't do it

PERRIS RACEWAY SCHEDULE CHANGES

Due to matters outside of our immediate control, the following schedule changes are announced.

1. We will not be racing at Perris on April 2nd. The date will be rescheduled, April 23rd is a possibility, but we need to ensure first that a few vital pieces of the puzzle are in place. We will let you know about April 23rd either way ASAP. Otherwise, the event will be staged at a later date.

2. The May 14th race scheduled for Perris will now instead be staged at KCRP Bakersfield. Due to our race at Ventura on the 7th, the Southern California Flat Track Association will now need May 14th for their own regular flat track event.

We are sorry for any inconvenience, especially to those who have supported us all the way since our two- year Covid season that started in June 2020 and hasn’t officially ended yet!

As a reminder, any riders who have entry credit from last weekend can apply it to any upcoming event at KCRP, Perris, Ventura, or Ridgecrest, or elect to get refund.

We still have a large number of races ahead for you and plenty of action coming up as other promotions return to the fold.

Revised race schedule through June (Summer break) All venues
26 March KCRP, Speedway / Flat Track Doubleheader
16 April KCRP, Speedway & Harley Night
23 April Perris (TBC)
30 April Ridgecrest, Speedway & Flat Track
7 May Ventura, Speedway & Flat Track
14 May KCRP Speedway
21 May KCRP Flat Track / Amateur Speedway
18 June Perris, Speedway
25 June KCRP, Speedway

PERRIS RACE CANCELLATION SATURDAY 19 MARCH

PERRIS RACEWAY: Having consulted many weather apps, we have made the reluctant decision to cancel Saturdays race. You never know 100% what will happen, but given the distance a lot of our riders travel, gas prices, economics of a rain out and the longer term consequences, it is best to play matters safe, no matter how frustrating this is.

The rain, if it arrived as forecast, would be in the middle of the show which is absolutely the worst case scenario. All prepaid rider entries can be rolled to KCRP Bakersfield next Saturday on the 26th, kept on account, or be immediately refunded.

I’m very sorry this was not an easy decision but I think doing this earlier than later is the best thing to do.

New York State Indoor Speedway Motorcycle Championship

The First Arena in Elmira, NY is set to play host to The NY State Indoor Speedway Motorcycle and ATV Championships April 1st and 2nd!

Spectacular indoor ice racing returns to First Arena, but with a fresh look and a much-improved competitor base over the events held in recent years. The past few shows were operated by an out of state promoter who limited the field by excluding local talent and running the races with a smaller than normal field of competitors. This time around well-known local racetrack, Champion Speedway in Owego, will be assisting the Arena with the indoor ice racing spectacle and the program will be much deeper featuring many contestants who are local and the very elite on ice!

A preview of some of the top names slated in the Speedway Division for the March Championships are former North American Indoor Ice Series Champion and Multi-time East Coast Champion, "The Missile" Adam Mittl, of Endicott and past NY State Ice Champion, David Meldrum of Scotland, who raced professionally in the UK for 10 years. Reigning East Coast Number One, Len McBride of Windsor, along with past East Coast Champion, "Sideways" Spencer Portararo, and rising stars Caleb Stewart of Apalachin, Trenton Lane of Watkins Glen and Mike Cortese Jr of Stirling, NJ, are expected. Veteran stars Russ Cornell from Nichols, NY and Dave Oakden from Brockport will also be tough competitors.

In the ATV wars, heading the list of top local pros to sign on at time of this release are Steve Kappler and Dylan Hawk of Windsor, Toby Relyea and Lucas Duffy of Owego and Tony Hanbury from Rochester.

In addition to two Speedway and ATV classes, a group of Trike racers, who always thrill the audience, will be included.

Ironically, the promoter of Champion Speedway in Owego, is former NHL Hockey Player, Jason Bonsignore of Rochester, who has previously run successful ice race events at the Broome County Arena, Chenango Ice Arena, Syracuse War Memorial and Utica Auditorium. Bonsignore and the staff at Champion Speedway have an excellent group of Speedway Motorcycle and ATV racers and Bonsignore is the second longest running outdoor dirt promotion in US Speedway history, having operated at Champion the past 17 years!

The Speedway motorcycles and ATV's that will feature in these programs have over 1,000 razor sharp silver screws in each tire! The Speedway machines have absolutely no brakes, run on methanol, are capable of going from 0 to 60mph in less than 3 seconds and will be sliding totally sideways through the corners. The ATV races will culminate in an insane Main event each night where there will be 6 riders at once in the extremely tight confines and there will be sure to be plenty of bumping and passing.

Start times for the races will be 7:30 pm Friday and 6:00pm Saturday.

Industry Racing Update

Sixth Annual Connor Penhall Memorial Cup to kick off the 2022 Speedway Season at Industry Racing.

Like a “Grand” lady getting ready for a night on the town work on “The Thunderdome” is in full throttle mode. Idle since the Gumball Rally on February 23, 2020 there are many things that require attention before racing can resume this year. No racetrack, no crash-walls, a complete rebuild was required before wheels could turn again in the Grand Area.

Well on its way 375 tons of dirt have already been brought in and laid out. An additional 400 tons of clay will be mixed in to get a proper racing surface. Then walls, paint, electrical, and so on. No worries, we got this.

Lots to do but easy compared to the paperwork and scheduling that is still being hammered out. One would think this would be a no brainer but it most is certainly not. Can state that slowly it is all coming together.

While an official 2022 race schedule has not been signed off on here is what all have agreed to in principal.

There will be at minimum of 12 and probably more Wednesday Night meetings that will feature Speedway Motorcycles, Sidecars and Juniors. The California State Champion ship and at least one or possible two rounds of the Speedway National Series will be held on a Saturday night. Hopefully a Gumball Rally date will also be confirmed. All Saturdays are a challenge here because City of Industry policy says the organization that last utilized the facility gets to hold their event again the following year. This means Speedway has to wait till a date becomes available and them it must compete with whoever else is waiting for an opening.

There will be no increases in admission ticket prices for the 2022 season. General Admission $15.00 - Juniors 13 to 17, Seniors, Military $10.00 - Kids 12 and under free with adult supervision.

Some changes on the top are also in the works. Kelly Inman will go from Race Director to Promoter. I’ll let him tell you about it cause like an onion there are numerous layers to this significant change. Regardless of title Kelly Inman is the man and will continue to be so. Staff personal will not change from previous years. Steve Lucero will referee and Terry “Ike” Clanton will once again be the announcer.

As in the past Industry Racing will continue to be a AMA facility. A yet to be determined amount of Handicap racing will complement the Scratch program. Plans to make the Bruce Flanders “Ugly Hawaiian Shirt” night into a major Championship race and title are also in the works.

Now you know so make your plans…See you where the wheels go round.

POLISH SPEEDWAY LEAGUE CHAMPION DUO ARE COMING TO BAKERSFIELD FOR AMA PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP!

Two riders from 2021 Polish Ekstraliga Champions Betard Sparta Wroclaw are coming to America to challenge the USA's top stars!

Gleb Chugunov and Michal Curzytek of Poland will be racing at Kern County Raceway in Bakersfield, California on Saturday February 19th in the AMA National Pairs Championship.

Chugunov, aged twenty-three, is a rising star on the World Speedway scene, having appeared in four World Championship Grand Prix events in 2020 / 2021, as well as being a two-time World Champion in the Speedway of Nations competition in 2018 and 2019.

Curzytek is aged just nineteen and entering his third season in Poland's top speedway league. The 2021 season saw him increase his points haul by over 40% and he was key member of the championship winning team.

Part of the success of Betard Sparta Wroclaw in 2021 was the addition of multi time World Champion Greg Hancock as a coach for the team. Both Chugunov and Curzytek are coming to California to work with Hancock in their pre-season preparations as the club readies itself for its title defense.

Four-time World Champion Hancock is delighted about the opportunity to coach the budding superstars in the California sunshine. “I am really excited to begin another season with Betard Sparta Wroclaw and to have any opportunity to bring both Gleb and Michał over to my home country before the start of the season is phenomenal. I learned a lot about each of these riders individually over the last year and I see a few fundamental adjustments that could prove to be productive for their overall results and future careers. I will do my best to assist in bringing them to another level and I really look forward to this for the years ahead.”

Bakersfield race director Steve Evans enthused, "This is a fantastic opportunity for American Speedway. Our riders and fans will win big time with two members of arguably the best speedway team in the world from last season coming to our track. Gleb has raced against Team USA in the Speedway World Cup and his talent is breathtaking. Michal is a rising star; I am sure neither of them have raced on the small American tracks before and it will be a good learning curve them to ride on something very different to the huge fast tracks in Poland. It is quite incredible they will be racing with us, having world class riders only makes the event better. Both AMA Supercross and American Flat Track have overseas riders that have enhanced their respective series. To me, American Speedway needs more connection to the world scene to elevate it to the next level and we are excited about their involvement. It's going to be amazing to see these guys race head-to-head with the likes of Luke Becker, Broc Nicol and the Ruml brothers.”

“Kern County Raceway facility manager Larry Collins, his staff and the track owners deserve huge credit for their investment and belief in our speedway project and on February 19th we will deliver the goods in a ground-breaking event."

The Bertard Sparta Wroclaw team boasts an additional array of other Speedway Superstars including 2021 World Champion Artem Laguta, three-time World Champion Tai Woffinden, Polish World Cup winner Maciej Janowski and young British star Dan Bewley.

The AMA National Pairs Championship starts at 5pm on February 19th. More information is available at www.kernraceway.com

2022 AMA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SPEEDWAY MOTORCYCLE RACING COMES TO BAKERSFIELD

AMA National Championship Speedway Motorcycle Racing is coming to ‘The Dirt Track at Kern County Raceway’ in Bakersfield, CA on February 19th, 2022, sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association.

The event will feature the very best American riders who will be competing as two-man teams for the AMA National Speedway Pairs Championship. Riders will enter the event with a teammate, competing against other duos for the coveted #1 AMA plates, with the champions crowned at the end of the night.

KCRP Speedway and Flat Track Race Director Steve Evans enthused, “This is probably the most exciting event on the American Speedway schedule in 2022. Aside from the usual thrilling edge of your seat Speedway racing we have come to expect at Kern County Raceway, we have a couple of added twists. The very best racers in the country will be racing for a National Championship. Also, with the ‘Pairs’ racing format, it isn’t just about winning races for yourself, but it’s about on track strategies to get your team mate to the front with you. That means more blocking of opponents and choosing race lines to get your teammate to the front with you.”

The National Championship event format on February 19th will be 22 races, each race featuring the top two teams in points qualifying for a one-off sudden death grand finale championship.

“It all comes down to one race at the end of the night with only two of the teams surviving what will be tough and brutal heats. The winning team from that one final race will be the 2022 AMA National Champions.” said Evans.

“We have all the top American Speedway riders competing at KCRP on February 19th, Broc Nicol, brothers Dillon and Max Ruml, Luke Becker, Blake Borello and more,” stated KCRP General Manger, Larry Collins. “These guys travel the world racing Speedway, and they will be right here at Kern County Raceway on February 19th, if you’ve never seen speedway at KCRP, you have to make this event.”

This National Championship event will also feature a full supporting cast of motorcycle racing divisions. Racing starts at 5pm.

The 2022 Bakersfield Speedway season will get underway on January 22nd at ‘The Dirt Track at KCRP’ with the second annual ‘King of Kern’ event (2pm), and Central California Flat Track Series Round 1 (5pm). Then it’s the AMA National Speedway Pairs Championship on February 19th. There is a full year of monthly Speedway and Flat Track races at KCRP in 2022, details at www.kernraceway.com
