Haddick's Towing Night
June 6, 2007 - Industry Speedway
By: Ryan Evans

Charlie "The Edge" Venegas topped off a perfect night by winning the First Division Main Event for the second consecutive week on Haddick's Collision Night at Industry Speedway.

The participants in the main event had the added incentive of an extra $500 that was added to the purse courtesy of Haddick's. The lineup for the main event was a carbon copy of the previous week with Venegas, Buck Blair, Jimmy Fishback, and Ricky Wells. Venegas launched off the inside and led the field into turn one. Blair found too much traction on the exit of two, lifted, and headed toward the wall. Wells, who was making a sweep around the outside had no other option but to shut off the throttle. Fishback took advantage and cut back under the pair to snatch second. Venegas, clear of the turn two drama, cruised the rest of the way for his third main event victory at Industry this season. Fishback was second, Wells finished third, and Blair was fourth to make an exact match of last week's main event result.

Three rounds of heats began with Neil Facchini running away from Blair for the victory. Not to be outdone by his older brother, Dale Facchini beat Wells to win the next heat. McConnell passed Fishback for the win. Venegas ended the first round with his first win.

Eddie Castro used the outside to pass Fishback at the end of lap three to win the opening race of the second round. Wells beat Robbie Sauer for his first win. Blair scored an easy first win in event 19. Venegas ended round two with his second straight win.

The final round began with Wells leading Venegas before having his plug wire fall off which forced him to coast to a stop and hand the win to Venegas. Blair made it two straight wins in the next race. Fishback held off Bobby Schwartz to win race 25. Castro brought the heats to a close with his second win.

Blair got the best start in the first semi, but Wells used the outside to power around the Colorado native and propel himself to victory. Venegas cruised to the win in the second semi with Fishback following him into the main event by finishing second. McConnell earned the win ahead of Castro in the Consolation.

Carl Gazafy was the initial leader in the Second Division Main Event before Vince Giamformaggio passed him on the outside. Giamformaggio was smooth the rest of the way to win the first Second Division Main to use a handicap format at Industry. John Marquez was second, Rudy Laurer finished third, Allen Doss was fourth, Rick Farron finished fifth, and Gazafy ended up sixth.

Yoshi Sato looked to have the Third Division Main Event victory in his pocket before bobbling on the last corner, brushing the wall, and handing the win to Danny Baker just yards shy of the checkered flag. Robert Glamuzina finished third, Charlie Ousley was fourth, Jim Painter finished fifth, and Hugh Randolph was sixth.

Richard Crocker and Braydan Galvin were probably the most entertaining riders of the entire evening. They swapped the lead numerous times in both of their heats to the delight of the crowd. Their Second Division Youth Main Event didn't disappoint either. The riders traded lines and the lead several times with Crocker barely edging Galvin at the line for the win.

Joey Holt was impressive en route to victory in the Youth First Division Main Event. Russell Green finished second and Brad Pappalardo was third.

Neil Facchini and his partner-for-a-race Robbie Sauer were victorious in the Sidecar Main Event with Joe Jones and Jimmy Olsen finishing second, and Brian Motis and Chris Coniglio coming in third.
